| All is not what
it appears! After the battle of Maryle's Heights, December 18, 1862,
there was a 'burial truce'. There were reports of 12,000 dead and wounded
soldiers. Confederate soldiers watched with fascination as Brady set up his
clumsy camera. This is probably the only "grin" smile ever recorded on a
Civil War camera plate. Click on the area for detail. But wait look at the
