Helsinki
Porvoo a village of 1346

Finland has a turbulent history.  Sweden, and Russia
played a strong role in their culture.  The Russian period ended
in 1917, but the brave Finns fought a valiant battle against the
Red Russian army before World War II, and battled the
Germans near the war's end.  We visited Porvoo a
Village that is the second oldest town.  We stopped for lunch at Haikko manor, then toured the famous Temppeliauko Rock Church and the city market square which had many times
been washed in blood.  The Uspenski Cathedral and Presidential Palace rounded out our visit in this small
but beautiful country.
